Basilica Block Party
In 2022, The Lacek Group was invited to compete against several Minneapolis agencies to rebrand the iconic Basilica Block Party. The client asked for an evergreen identity that could deliver across channels including logo, email marketing, billboards, posters, social, and digital media, while bringing the event back bigger than ever after its COVID hiatus.
The winning concept celebrated Minneapolis by highlighting beloved local landmarks, later evolving into a campaign that spotlighted the vibes of Minnesota Nice with interiors of music venues such as 7th St Entry, 331 Club and many more.

After the concept was chosen, we created a logo that balanced the festival’s history with a modern music festival feel. Colors were inspired by St. Mary’s Church, the Catholic star symbol doubled as the Star of the North, and a new Minneapolis skyline was added. Simplified wordmarks made the logo flexible and adaptable across print, social, and merchandise.

We designed a variety of posters and billboards to showcase Minneapolis landmarks and capture the spirit of the city.
The email series ran for several weeks leading up to the main event in August, building anticipation and engagement.
